HONEYSOLD FIELD GUIDE

Find the honey that fits the food.

Practical honey information to prepare your next buying or kitchen question.

Honey served with yogurt, pear slices and toasted bread

Choose a familiar use.

Compare a small amount with the food or drink you normally prepare. A preference on toast may differ from a preference in tea or a recipe.

Keep comparisons simple.

Use the same food and similar amounts when comparing two products. Note sweetness, aroma and handling without turning personal preference into a universal quality ranking.

Describe consistency as well as flavor.

A pourable product and a crystallized spread can behave differently in service. State the consistency you need and ask what the actual supplier can provide.

Stay specific.

Keep the product name, price, weight and your own notes together. Flavor comparisons are not medical advice, authentication or proof of a floral origin.
